Making textile art a focal point

Textile art is a great way to decorate your home and if you have purchased (or made) a large piece you might want to consider making it a focal point of the room.

If you have a chimney breast in the room, consider placing it on there. Most rooms are traditionally arranged around the fireplace and this will definitely help to draw the eye towards it.

Room colour scheme

The colour of the wall behind the textile art is important. You don’t want it to clash, so whether you choose to paint or wallpaper, a neutral light colour is probably the best option. Wallpaper does not have to feature a bold pattern, but a small simple pattern would work very well.

Consider also adding smaller pieces of textile art on other walls that complement the main piece, either in style or colour. This will create a flow to the decor in the room.
